FAQ

Some frequently asked questions about Peggy Li Creations jewelry, answered!

What's the best way to care for my jewelry?

Heat and humidity, along with perfumes and chemicals, can trigger a chemical reaction with your jewelry and cause it to tarnish. I always recommend removing your jewelry before going in a swimming pool/bathing/bed and to not store your jewelry in the bathroom.

Your jewelry ships individually in reusable zip lock bags, which are a great way to store your pieces (and keep them from tangling with each other as well)!

I lost an earring! May I order a single earring?

It's possible! Please contact me and let me know your situation. If you own a handmade earring, it may be difficult to match it exactly so you may have to ship me the single earring to get the pair made.

How do I add a charm to my personalized charm necklace?

I offer individual letter charms for my round charm initial necklaces in both sterling silver and 14k gold-filled. If you have a special requirement or question, just email me!

What do you do to make your jewelry eco-friendly?

Whenever possible, I will work with US-based manufacturers and sources that believe in fair wages and green eco-friendly practices. The metals I use are 14k gold-filled, gold plated silver, sterling silver, fine silver, Bali silver and real karat gold. Read more about 14k gold-filled components and gold plate vermeil and vermeil styles on the blog:

Blog: What is the difference between 14k gold-filled and gold vermeil?

At my workbench, I recycle my metal scraps and use boxes and packaging materials that use recycled materials. I also keep my packaging of your shipment to a minimum to avoid unnecessary waste (a pet peeve of mine!).

I also reuse the packing materials from my supply shipments whenever I can.

I have metal allergies when I wear earrings. What are your hypoallergenic earring options?

Metal allergies can be frustrating when you don't know what you are allergic to! Most people are fine with sterling silver and 14k gold-filled. Most of my designs are in those metals, but there are also options like niobum or 14k gold upgrades. Read more about the options you can have here:

How did you get your jewelry on TV?

I've always been a big fan of TV (favorite shows of all time: X-Files, Star Trek, Law & Order). While living in Los Angeles, I got to meet the costume designer for "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and the rest is history!
